Busy little bee

Tribute lights shown in the place the Twin Towers used to stand on 9-11. I thought these were pretty cool. I was unaware that they did this, but I think it is a neat idea.

This is a pretty shot too!

I don't think 9/11 got the rememberance that it usually does due to this hurricane thing, and I don't think that is right. More rant on that later.

I have been super busy this week. I don't feel like I have gotten any more accomplished than usual, but I have had zero time as of lately. Have not worked any overtime, I did get tutored on stats last night, then ran around town looking for a good picture frame to go with the picture I posted of Ruth and me (see last post.) Then went to bed.

I don't know what the deal is. I don't really have anything good to report on, any cool links to share, of funny pictures. For as busy as I have been, not a lot has happened.

Begin Rant/
I guess I could talk about the things that have been happening in the media about Katrina that I don't agree with... First of all, I agree with Patrick about them imediately comparing this with 9/11. This has nothing to do with that. Terrorism is on a whole different scale from natural disasters. Now, I could see if they said something along the lines of, "This is the worst thing to happen on US Soil since 911... " or something to that degree, but other wise they are just comparing apples to oranges.

75% of New Orleans evacutated. There were some good people that did not evacuate in the left over 25%, but for the most part they were the welfare parasites, who blame the government for their station in life, to begin with. I also heard, that due to the lack of planning a city wide evacuation, the mayor, at the last minute, released inmates from the jail, to fend for themselves. hmmmm, and we wonder why there is looting. Let me go to the walmart and steal a big screen plasma tv, then shoot at the elcectrician who is trying to turn my power back on, so I can't watch it. There is no excuse for the behavior that these people are displaying. Then they hand out $2000.00 credit cards for food, water, and necessities, and one lady went to Goergia and bought an $800.00 purse, WTF! What are you going to do with a purse that costs $800? I am tired of hearing about New Orleans. Lets here about Mississippi, or Alabama, they were devestated too, and you don't see as much of the mass chaos there...

A natural or manmade disaster is a time for our countrymen, or anyone for that matter, (because it could happen anywhere) to come together. Not rape, pillage, and plunder. Not shoot at the linemen, police officers, and fellow citizens. It is completely beyond my imagination, what could have made these people think that this was okay. I mean, I just don't get it. Welfare parasites and criminals... what would you expect.

That is all I care to say about it. I am very disapointed.

More later!

We were hit pretty hard last year, and you did not see anything like this. That is as far as I am going to take this.

YA. nothin about Miss. or Alabama. Its like this scale now, worse than 911, but not as bad as the tsunami. WTF! Where do we put the next one?

I agree that people have tended to focus on New Orleans and skip over the rest of the Gulf Coast. The company I work for has a center in Gulfport, and everyone I know there had their homes destroyed or damaged. NO is a major American city though- it is natural that the media would focus there.

Also, that is the place where the levees broke, due to "lack of funds" to bring them up to snuff. Gulfport, Biloxi and all the other little towns were devastated by a natural disaster. NO was devastated by that PLUS flooding that could have been prevented.
